Welcome to our web site and the family of faith we call St. Philip’s United Methodist Church. We are a diverse family who offers ministry to address the needs of our congregation and of the community.
Our goal is to offer ministry to persons of all ages and we're especially excited about developing new ministries to young families. It is an exciting time at St. Philip’s. We recognize our mission to reach out to our community and to change lives in the name of Christ. We are anxious to get to know our neighbors in the community and learn how we may offer ministry to you.
Please visit us and we hope you will join us in our ministry in the name of Christ. When you visit, please introduce yourself. If you have questions regarding our ministry, please don’t hesitate to call us at (713) 666-2175 or email us at staff@spumc.com.

will be there to take care of your children for a few hours.
Come and enjoy a pancake break on Sunday morning between 9:30 am and 10:45 am in the Fellowship Hall. Our Boy Scout Troop
like to honor the church each year for the support our church provides.
Professor Bert Hall leads a Bible Study each Monday morning at 9:30 am and
is currently teaching the Gospel of John. Everyone is welcome to join the group.
Each month, the Fellowship Sunday School class collects contributions that
are then given to Braes Interfaith Ministries.
The Fellowship Class has been responsible for this monthly outreach effort for many years and sincerely
appreciates your contributions. For each dollar you contribute, BIM is able to buy $10 in food for
those in need.
Don't forget to bring your old newspapers, magazines, articles, and folded up cardboard boxes and place them
in the recycle bins. St. Philip's makes money!
If you would like to a part of the music program, there are two opportunities waiting for you.
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Choir room behind the Chancel
area. Singing experience is helpful, but not required.
The handbell choir is always looking for experienced musicians who would
like to play handbells. You do not need to know how to play bells,
but you do need to be able to read music to participate. So, if you fit the bill and want to
become a ding-a-ling, please join us on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm.
At the Contemporary service at 8:45am, there are opportunities for singers and musicians who can play
in the Praise Band. Contact Joshua Grohman on Sunday morning to express your interest.
Although some of the 2010 dates are taken, the altar flower schedule is open. Make sure each Sunday has flowers
on the altar. You can honor or remember a loved one. Flowers are $44.
If you have some spare time Monday or Friday of each week and would like to help the church office
with the phones, filing, and stuffing bulletins, please call the church office at 713-666-2175.
