October 16 will mark the start of a BEGINNING English as a Second Language (ESL) class at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church, located at 5501 Beechnut. The class will meet in Room 106 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Dr. Keith Anthis will be teaching the class. Keith started his language studies in 1991, then language teaching in 2000, and is passionate about sharing his expertise with students. He is fluent in three languages and is looking forward to teaching a new language to adults in the neighborhood. The class is open to adults with little to no English skills and will focus on reading, speaking and understanding. Classroom activities will include written work, reading and group discussion. Attendance on a regular basis is required. There is no cost for the class. A completed registration form must be received in the church office to attend the class.
