My dog is terrified of storms. At the first rumble of thunder, she begins to bark, hopeful that I will let her in the utility room. And, of course I do. As soon as she gets in, she curls up and goes to sleep, knowing she is safe from the storm. As I watch her sleep, it occurs to me that we humans are much the same. In the storms of life, we all seek some place where we can feel safe and protected.
