Thanks to those of you who helped make Pentecost special by providing wonderful music, hanging banners, making doves and blowing up balloons. Thanks especially to Marianne Drabek who donated funds to purchase the beautiful origami doves that hang in the front of the sanctuary for Pentecost. It was a great day of celebrating new beginnings as we welcomed Daniel Zajicek as our new music director and partied with Rud Swan as he graduated from high school.
By the time you receive this newsletter Marilyn Lacour, Allen Grant and I will have attended our Texas Annual Conference yearly meeting in the Woodlands. We will have listened to reports, voted on resolutions and worshipped as a conference. This year the hot topic is the report of Commission on the Way Forward. It is my hope that the United Methodist Church can find a way to remain United. It will take a willingness by all to be more understanding and accepting of differing views.
Appointments of pastors are set at this conference, although pastors typically know their assignments prior to this gathering. Since I have not heard differently, I am planning to return as your pastor for another exciting year as we engage in ministry together. I am so proud of…
