St. Philip’s Day School is a ministry of St. Philip’s United Methodist Church – Houston providing early childhood learning experiences for children 18 months to five years of age. The Day School is committed to offering children the opportunity to learn, play, and grow. It is our goal to encourage your child’s social, emotional, and spiritual growth by presenting a variety of learning experiences appropriate to their age level, in a safe, nurturing environment. But the best way to find out about the Day School is to visit the school. Tours are offered daily from 9:30 am and 11:30 am by appointment. Please call the Day School Office to schedule a visit or tour today. You can also fill out our Inquiry form by going to: Inquiry Form

Curriculum and Activities
The Pre Kindergarten curriculum revolves around the alphabet, phonemic awareness, math skills, pre-reading and pre-writing skills. The class enjoys art, science, cooking, show & tell, and many other activities that highlight the letter of the week.
The Preschool and Mother’s Day Out classes also enjoy art and science activities that center on themes throughout the year. We explore the holidays, family, nature, rodeo, friends, and more in an age appropriate manner.
Each day, each class follows a daily schedule that includes indoor and outdoor play, music, large and small motor activities, snack, and group story time. Chapel is led by the pastor on Wednesday mornings for Pre-K and Preschool.
Many special activities come to the Day School including visits from Station 51 – Houston Fire Department Ladder Truck, Dr. Carl, the Dentist or the Tooth Fairy, Tiny Texans Pony Rides & Pictures, and many more. Our Butterfly Garden is a great outdoor classroom and is tended to by all the children of the Day School.
Our Day School complies with HISD publicly announced closures due to inclement weather or any other reason that HISD deems necessary for all schools within the district. If HISD announces a closure, our Day School will also close. For more information, please check your St. Philip’s Day School Parent Handbook.

Enrollment for the Summer Fun program is now open.
We can be contacted at 713-666-2761 or email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Day School Summer Fun Program is an 8-week session for children ages 2-5 years. The program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer beginning the first full week in June and ends in late July. The day begins at 9am and lasts until 2pm. Children bring their snack and lunch from home.
Day School Summer Fun is a more relaxed format than our school year. We get outdoors, spread our wings, get our feet dirty, and have fun! Activities include storytelling, art, dramatic play, kite flying, exploring science and music, and many more surprises!
Each week, we have Splash Day! We get out the splash pools and water tables and have a fun filled morning. We paint the building with water, fish, explore shells and creatures from the deep, draw with our sidewalk chalk, create shaving cream art, blow bubbles, and many more activities.
