Hear About St. Philip’s 50+ Year Association With Scouting
Everyone in the church is invited to attend a program on Monday, April 17, 2017, sponsored by the United Methodist Men. If you would like to join us for dinner, be sure to sign up Sunday morning, April 16th, so the cook team will know how much food to prepare. Come at 6:30 and bring $5.00 for the meal. At 7:00, Richard Smith, Boy Scout leader, and Ross Cunningham, Cub Scout leader, will present what is happening with our Scouts at St. Philip’s. Did you know they were chartered in 1961 at our church under the sponsorship of St. Philip’s?
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, providing programs for young people that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness. For more than 100 years, Boy Scouts of America has helped build future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible and productive society. Several of our church members are proud Eagle Scouts.
This will be a very interesting program. It will conclude about 8:00 pm.
