Lisa, who came from the McCabe Roberts Avenue United Methodist Church in the Beaumont District, is our senior minister. Prior to that assignment, Lisa was an Associate at the First United Methodist Church of Sugar Land. She is in her 12th year at St. Philip’s. You can email Lisa at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Director of Music Ministries
Daniel has a doctoral degree in music composition form Rice University. He currently is a bass player and singer for the bluegrass band Brazos River Pickers. He grew up in Columbia, Missouri, where he played piano, sang in choir, performed in plays, as well as with jazz and rock bands. He is married and has one child.
We are currently without an administrative assistant and are looking to modify the requirements of the job. Once the modifications are finalized, the job will be posted on our website.
Ryan Pennington joined St. Philip’s on June 1, 2017, as the organist/accompanist. Ryan plays the organ, piano and keyboard. Ryan has a Music degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and traveled to the University of California Los Angeles for a fellowship to study Organ Performance. Ryan has been composing music for over a decade, teaches private lessons, and has been a band director.
Deanna White, a long-time member of St. Philip’s, is our part-time Treasurer. She joined the staff having served on the Finance Committee for several years and had experience working with QuickBooks, the tool used by our previous treasurer.
Marc DeRome, a member of St. Philip’s and a long time teacher, is our part-time Youth Director. Marc has a passion for working with kids and will be an asset to our church. He also holds a Masters Degree.
New Day School Director
For the past six years, Theresa Burnett has been a teacher in the preschool class. Previously, she was Director for fourteen years. Theresa’s husband James is a local attorney and they have two daughters, both of whom attended the Day School. Theresa is looking forward to the new school year with the children, teachers, and church staff.
Gume has been the church nursery coordinator for some time and is responsible for assuring we have personnel each Sunday morning and other services/meeting/events when the nursery is needed.
Ana has been with St. Philip’s for quite a while, working two days per week plus servicing the day school, all at night. She also sets up tables around the campus. You will often find her mother working at her side.
