Giving back to the community is an aspect of youth service our kids truly enjoy. During the mission trips, the youth work hard during the day painting, building, cleaning, landscaping, and many other types of jobs. Nightly, there is worship and then organized activities. For example, the 2013 & 2014 Youth mission trips took us to San Marcos, TX. There they teamed up with five other church youth groups from Texas and Louisiana to perform a variety of home-site remodeling jobs. They all pitched in to complete interior paint jobs, taped and floated sheetrock, sanded wood floors, installed door trim, tore out walls and re-stud torn out doors. They stayed busy doing their best to complete all assigned tasks before the deadline. Giving back to the community is an aspect of youth service our kids truly enjoy.
The trip was not all work and no play. There was time daily to unwind and enjoy everyone’s company. There was worship and organized activities. We had a buffet dinner and a movie night along with tubing the Guadalupe River and spending a day at Schlitterbahn Water Park. Fellowship was at a premium!
